The Alton Arts Festival is only possible because of the incredible people who give their time, energy, and enthusiasm to make it happen. Every event in our programme, from intimate performances to large community celebrations, relies on volunteers to run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.

Why volunteer?

Volunteering at the Alton Arts Festival is a genuinely fun and rewarding experience. You’ll meet new people, support local creativity, and play a hands‑on role in bringing the arts to life across the town. Roles range widely, so there’s something for every interest and comfort level, including:

• Checking tickets and welcoming audiences

• Selling refreshments

• Marshalling and helping events run safely

• Assisting with venue set‑up and take‑down

• Documenting the festival through photography or social media

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or trying it for the first time, you’ll be part of a friendly team that keeps the festival thriving.
