GETTING STARTED WITH PASTELS
Pastels are one of the most immediate and satisfying art materials there are – vivid, tactile and wonderfully forgiving for beginners. If you've always wanted to try them, this is the perfect time to start!
In this relaxed two-hour workshop, Sally Cox from Alton Art Society will walk you through the basics of colour and shading, sharing practical tips and techniques you can build on long after you leave. Working from a photograph you bring along yourself, you'll create your own piece under Sue's guidance – no previous experience required.
Pastels and paper are provided. Just bring a photograph to work from, an old rag and wear an old t-shirt or apron.
