Street Stories

Art Trail

Street Stories gives everyone a chance to participate in the Alton Arts Festival 2024. Showcase your creative ideas from your own home, your street, or your business.

Inspired by the literature and visual arts elements of the AAF programme, Street Stories is an opportunity to celebrate and share your favourite characters from stories and literature. Whether it is a character from your favourite book, myth or legend - or even local folklore - we want to see your own creations in 2D or 3D on display across Alton.

All entries will be invited to be part of a Street Stories trail and walking tour throughout Alton Art Festival, and there will be public votes for favourite entries, with voucher prizes on offer.

Anyone entering will also be invited to sign up for some optional workshops in the run up to the festival to help build your idea, which will include support in basic woodworking and sculptural construction, such as using wire, metal and recycled materials. These will be a great way to get creative and learn some practical skills on the way.

Workshop dates are scheduled for : Sat 20th April 2 – 4pm and Mon 27th May 10 – 2pm. These will both be run at the Allen Gallery in Alton. Booking details to follow.
